Event Details

Start Time: 10pm Finish sometime after 12.30am
Where: We start and finish at Custom House Square, Belfast

What to wear? Whatever you like, however fancy dress or wearing purple will attract spot prizes and add to the fun. To help you we will be providing every registered walker with an official hospice purple t-shirt!
We suggest reasonably sensible shoes as 5 miles is quite a long walk! Also you will want comfortable shoes for the warm up time in the square
Do- come prepared with an outer layer of clothing as it may get a bit cool as the midnight hour approaches.
Walk Facilities: We hope to have a choice of local vendors selling refreshments in Custom House Square throughout the event and portaloos on- site.
The evening will commence at 10pm with an hour of fun and entertainment led by U105’s radio road show and a big group warm up before the walk commences from Custom House Square.
There will be spot prizes awarded for the best fancy dress and person most eye catching in purple…(our hospice colour)…so feel free to dress up wild and wacky if you wish.
Fancy dress is optional and all participants who register will automatically receive a hospice t-shirt to wear on the night with pride.

Why Walk?
Last year our Midnight Walk was a huge success, it attracted over 300 walkers and raised £15,000 towards the cost of caring for 3,250 adults, children and young people living with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses here in N.Ireland.
If you helped support the event last year a very big thank you!
This year we want to raise £25,000 which will be enough to fund the cost of a hospice nurse for a year at the Adult Hospice in Somerton Road, Belfast, and ties in with us celebrating our 25th anniversary.
About the walk
Our walk takes in some of Belfast’s key landmarks such as the City Hall and Queens University and is open to men, women and young people over 13 years, provided they are accompanied by a parent/guardian.
We are hoping for an exciting party atmosphere and the order of the evening is Fun! Fun! FUN!, with lively action and spot prizes for best fancy dress and the person who looks most eye-catching in ‘Purple’. .our hospice colour!!! So dress up wild or as wacky as you like, even get your face painted with our hospice logo…its all in a good cause after all!
Want to walk in memory of a loved one?
Walkers can, if they wish, walk in memory of someone special in their life and we will provide a Candle bag, which can be personalised and decorated as you like prior to the event. Walkers are invited to bring their personally decorated candle bag with them on the night so that we can display it with the hundreds of others to form a sea of flickering lights in Custom House Square at the end of the walk.
