| A Monster Challenge Supports the Children’s Hospice |
|
The event, now in its third year, was a great success, with all money raised on the day going towards providing care for life limited children across Northern Ireland, and supporting their families. Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice provides specialist respite and end of life care to families both at home and in the children’s hospice building Horizon House. Tracie Kyle, captain of this year’s winning team, Translink, commented on the day, “Translink were delighted to be able to support the Children’s Hospice by entering a team in this year’s Dragon Boat Race. Everyone had a fantastic day out and we are hoping to keep our title next year! ” With over 200 competitors and supporters, the race was complimented by a bright festival atmosphere. A BBQ, magic show, balloon modelling, competitions and musical support from Cool FM DJ Paul Kennedy, helped to make it a fun day for all the family! Fundraiser Lucy McCullough added “The event was a great success and I would like to thank all the teams who took part and raised money to help the Children’s Hospice. It costs £1.8m to maintain our services so events like this, and the support of the public is essential to help us provide our special care.” |
